Let My Experiences Benefit You
I have experience with QuickBooks Desktop, QuickBooks Online and RealPage. I have been in a CFO/Controller position in the construction industry for the past 28 years, first with a real estate development company, then with a roofing construction company and finally ending with Boat & RV Storage construction in my last job. I have been responsible for all those companies to create, develop, and maintain their financial department while working alongside the CEO in making growth strategy decisions. I have worn multiple hats within a financial department depending on the needs.
I know what it takes to operate the financial department on a day-to-day basis as being the only person running the department until the company grew enough to hire four other employees for my finance department. I’ve trained all personnel in the finance department, created budget proformas and financials to secure lending, created all the construction draw spreadsheets in Excel (unless the AIA forms were required), submitted each construction draw with supporting documents, worked with all the subcontractors to make sure their COI was current, lien releases signed, and progressive payments were made according to the contract and progress of each job.
I have overseen all A/R and A/P, property tax protesting and company general liability insurance needs. I have managed all the HR/payroll needs, tax filings as well as partnership and corporation tax return prep work for the outsourced CPA for tax filing. I have formed over 35 partnerships in the State of Texas along with all other organizational documents necessary for each entity. Each of those partnerships has 5-15 investors in each entity; therefore, I managed all investment offerings to all investors, their preferred return calculations, distributions, K-1’s, and quarterly financial reporting.
